chief scientist Prof. Dr. U. Bathmann,
a significant contribution to SCACE will be made by Germany.
Place:
The section performed during RV 'Polarstern' cruise ANT-XXIV/2 will run along the Greenwich Meridian (0°E) across the Antarctic Circumpolar Current towards the coast of Antarctica.
Its is the vision of SCACE that other meridional sections spread around the Antarctic continent will be conducted in the same season of the same year with similar suites of measurements. Some of these other sections are already planned, others still need to be confirmed.
